Frequently asked questions

General

Where are you located?

A.The studio is based in Narre Warren North. I have quite a few Location spots in the surrounding area, bayside and the Mornington Peninsula. A travel fee may apply for regional photo sessions.

Are you insured?

A.Yes. I have public liability and business insurance.

Do you have a WWC & are you vaccinated?

A.Yes, I do and I am fully vaccinated.

What if my baby/child(ren) are shy?

A.That is no stress at all! All sessions have time to allow for extra cuddles, songs, laughter to allow your child to feel comfortable in a new environment.

What should we wear?

A.You can find inspiration in my portfolio and Instagram. However, what I always suggest is:

- wear something you are comfortable in and will be happy looking back on,

- choose 1-2 dominate colours (you can wear similar shades, doesn't need to be exactly the same colour) and combine them with neutrals (white/cream/beige/tan/etc.),

- steer clear of fluros, loud patterns and big logo as they can be distracting.

Do you provide re-touching when editing?

A.All images are creatively edited to reflect my 'style'. Obvious (non permanent) blemishes will be removed. Additional Photoshop editing requests will be considered individually and may attract an editing fee.

Do I get all un-edited images?

A.No. Your gallery is handpicked and curated with the best images from your session.

Studio Photoshoot galleries will contain approximately 30 images for you to select your favourites from (or buy the whole gallery)!

Location and In Home Photoshoots will contain approximately 50 images.

Can I purchase additional digital images?

- Single Digital Image - $25
- 10 Pack of Digital Images - $225
- Upgrade to ALL images in gallery (approx. 20 additional images) - $400

When will my gallery be ready?

A.Your gallery link (and password) will be emailed to you approximately 2-3 weeks after your photoshoot.

Do I need to pay a deposit

A.Yes, a $150 deposit is required to secure your session date and time.

If your deposit is not received by the due date, your session will be made available to other clients.

How can I pay?

A.You can pay online via direct debit and credit card, or cash.

**Full payment is due 1 WEEK PRIOR to your photoshoot.

Do you offer payment plans?

A.Yes. Individualised payment plans with no interest can be created for you.

Do you charge extra for twins?

A.No. Parents with twins already have additional costs, so I would never add to those costs!

I only charge for an additional cake during a cake smash.

What if I need to reschedule?

A.I understand sickness and life problems can occur. However, I do require 48 hours notice. If there is less than 48 hours notice, you will need to pay an additional $150 deposit.

Do you offer a print service?

A.Yes. My print products are exclusively available to certified photographers which is what makes them premium quality. They are archival products guaranteed to last 75 years. As a professional photographer, I have the best quality products available on offer to you.

Print products include: prints, framed prints, floating framed canvas, acrylic prints, albums & birth announcements. Please visit the Printed Products page or use the Contact form if you have further questions.

NEWBORN

What is a good age to photograph newborns?

A.Between 6-14 days of life is ideal for those nudie, sleepy and curly images, as babies tend be less easily disturbed when being moved.

However in saying that, if things don’t go well during birth or you don’t think about photos until your baby has arrived, we can still get beautiful images at any age!

The main differences are that your baby may not be able to curl up as much or like being nudie!

Do you think about safety?

A.Yes, Yes, Yes!!! Safety is my NUMBER ONE PRIORITY! Be prepared for yourself or your partner to be on ‘spotting’ duty! If I ever think a baby or child is/will be unstable, I always organise someone to be close to the child, while I photograph.

What happens if there is a toilet accident?

A.There is no need to stress about that! It’s unusual if a newborn or baby doesn’t have an accident during my sessions! Everything is washable!!

What do I need to bring?

A.I will have everything here for your session, unless discussed prior. Some items that are regularly required include:

- nappy bag
- bottles
- dummy
- snacks (for older babies)
- sibling outfits
- parent outfits

Can siblings & parents be included in the session?

A.Ye. Family photos are too important not to be taken!!

PREGNANCY

How many weeks is good for a pregnancy photoshoot?

A.Between 32-26 weeks.

Do you have gowns for use?

A.Yes. If you are interested in using them please contact to discuss sizing.

Can I do a location pregnancy shoot?

A.Yes. these are best done during sunset.

CAKE SMASH

What is a good age to photograph a Cake Smash?

A.It all depends on what you would like to use the images for.

Some clients prefer to use the session to mark their baby’s 1 year milestone, so photograph as close to their birthday as they can.

Other clients prefer to use the images for invitations and decorations at the 1st birthday party. If the is what you would like, I would suggest 10 months of age to allow enough time to get everything organised!

Do I have to bring my own cake?

A.No. You get to choose the cake and my cake maker will create it for you.

**EGG FRRE and DAIRY FREE cakes are available with a $15 surcharge, as my cake maker must use different ingredients.

Can we bring additional family members to the cake smash eg. grandparents?

A.I always suggest not to have too many extra people come to the shoot. Sometimes too many people can be overwhelming and distracting for your baby, which can make them anxious and scared.

LOCATION

What time are your sunset sessions?

A.Location sessions are scheduled for the hour prior to sunset - 'golden hour'. This light is the most beautiful. If you're worried about your kids bedtime, sessions in late Autumn through to early Spring can start as early as 4pm! And be sure to bring their pjs with you, saves you doing that when you get home!!

What happens if it rains?

A.Location sessions go ahead in all weather except for rain. I keep a close eye on the forecast, and if rain is expected we usually make a decision to postpone just before lunch on the day of your photoshoot.
